Austria U13 win their First Ever International Match 

Today at the Austrian Cricket Stadium, Austria U13 played SloveniIMG_1896a U13 National Teams for the first Siva Nadarajah International Trophy.

After four warm up games, a full T20 match was played. Austria batted first, and in spite of a good fielding display, scored 169 for 8, built on an excellent innings from opener Farhaan Mohideen of 90. For Slovenia, Chris Charlesworth bowled well taking 4 for 27 from his 4 overs.

In reply Slovenia, started well and kept close to the target run rate but wickets fell and despite a spirited 40 from Max Charlesworth, were finally all out for 107 after 18 overs, with 2 wickets each for Rory Toogood, David Clark and Farhaan Mohideen. Continue reading

Erstes SNASY Spiel U17 : SNASY Academy U17 vs Riders CC

Die Unter 17 Mannschaft des SNASY Instituts, welche sich mit dem Aufbau aller Jugendlichen Cricketspielern Österreichs für die Nationalmannschaft auseinandersetz, hat am Sonntag, den 15.6.2014, ihr erstes Spiel gegen die neue konkurrenzfähige Open-Leaguemannschaft Riders Cricket Club gespielt.
SNASY U17 first match

RCC gewann den Toss und traf die Entscheidung zu bowlen. Nachdem wir einen Opner verloren hatten, kam unser Kapitän Aqib Iqbal am Feld, welcher für die Mannschaft große Verantwortung übernahm. Mit seinen 114 Runs ermöglichte er gemeinsam mit Obaid Omari, welcher in 20 Bällen die RCC Bowlers für 51 Runs geschlagen hat, eine Summe von 259 Runs. Continue reading

Aqib Iqbal, (17), today scored the SNASY Academy’s first hundred! In the game against Riders CC, he scored 114, as he captained the U17 team in their first competitive match – see other post.  Fantastic Aqib! Well done!

Great first Match!

SNASY Academy U17 played their first competitive match today against the Riders CC. It was aaca Austria logo basic close game with the SNASY Academy scoring 260 in their 40 overs and Raiders CC reaching the target with one wicket and just under 2 overs to spare! Great start.
Big thanks to Wasin and Riders CC for the game and for giving us the match experience!

SNASY Academy U17 spielten ihr erstes Competitive Match heute gegen die Riders CC. Es war ein enges Spiel mit dem SNASY Akademy “scoring” 260 in ihrer 40 Overs und Raiders CC erreichte das Ziel mit einer Wicket und knapp 2 Overs zu ersparen! Toller Start.

ACCW Future Schools Cup – 4,500 runs in two days

U13 Hardball competition in progress

The 14th running of the well-attended Austria Cricket Club Wien Future Schools Cup took place on 30th/31st May at the Austria Cricket Stadium in Vienna. In two days, exactly 4,500 runs were scored by the 83 young players from 9 different clubs and schools from Germany, Slovakia and Austria – the highest number to date – played over 33 matches, on three pitches and in glorious sunshine, at least on the Saturday!.

Introducing SNASY – the Siva Nadarajah Austrian Sports for Youth Institute (SNASY Institute)

The inaugural session will be held at the ACS in Markomannenstrasse on Saturday, 10 May 2014, starting at 13:00.

ACA finalises contract with SNASY for organization and development of youth cricket

kids at tournamentWolfgang Tesar, Secretary Austrian Cricket Association has announced that the ÖCV-ACA has finalised a contract with SNASY (Siva Nadarajah Austrian Sports for Youth Institute) to handle the development and organization of youth cricket in Austria. The contract will run for this season and with an extension to the contract to be decided upon at the next AGM.
