Today at the Austrian Cricket Stadium, Austria U13 played Slovenia U13 National Teams for the first Siva Nadarajah International Trophy.
After four warm up games, a full T20 match was played. Austria batted first, and in spite of a good fielding display, scored 169 for 8, built on an excellent innings from opener Farhaan Mohideen of 90. For Slovenia, Chris Charlesworth bowled well taking 4 for 27 from his 4 overs.
In reply Slovenia, started well and kept close to the target run rate but wickets fell and despite a spirited 40 from Max Charlesworth, were finally all out for 107 after 18 overs, with 2 wickets each for Rory Toogood, David Clark and Farhaan Mohideen.
The highlight of the weekend, though, was the improvement in cricketing skills, match awareness and team spirit – and of course lots of fun!
Thanks to all involved from Slovenia, SNASY Academy and ACC for the successful event. Can’t wait for the next one!
